Panipat, May 13
A 70-year-old person was murdered in Karhans village of Samalkha on Sunday. The police have booked eight persons, including four women, in the case.
The police handed over the body to the kin on Monday after a post-mortem examination at PGIMS, Rohtak. The deceased was identified as Randhir of Karhans village.
Rajbala, daughter-in-law of the victim, in her statement to the police said she had filed a molestation complaint against her brother-in-law Krishan on Saturday.
She alleged on Sunday, she along with her daughter Sonia, went to tie animals in a vacant plot which is the joint property of her father-in-law and his brothers.
Meanwhile, Krishan, Virender and Sanjay along with Deepak, son of Virender, Suman, wife of Krishan, Poonam, wife of Sanjay, Seeta, wife of Virender and Rukmani, mother of Krishan, attacked her. Her daughter ran away and informed the family members. Her father-in-law Randhir (deceased) and brother-in-law Rohtash reached the spot but they were assaulted by the accused.
