As many as 29 colleges of and around Ludhiana participated in various competitions held at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, under the 6th Prof Gurbir Singh Sarna Memorial Inter-College Competitions on Saturday.
This event was organised in the memory of Late Prof Gurbir Singh Sarna, general secretary of Guru Nanak Education Trust (Gujarkhan), Gujarkhan Campus, and former professor of economics, GGN Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana.
Competitions were held in nine different areas – poetic recitation, declamation, creative writing, music, IT, home science, fine arts, mass communication and psychology.
Daljit Kaur, deputy commissioner, in-charge, anti evasion, CGST, was the chief guest. She said: “One needs to be focused about his/her aim in life. Sharing her experience with students, she said she had already decided her aim when she was in school and her father remained her guiding light.
Manjit Kaur Ghuman, Principal of the host college, said: “The competitions are more special this year as the college is celebrating its golden jubilee and these competitions were organised keeping in view the present need for cultural exchange and intellectual dialogue.”
