6 vigilance probes conducted in Jan

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has conducted nine inquiries from January 25 to 31 and allegations have been proved in six.

The Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has conducted nine inquiries from January 25 to 31 and allegations have been proved in six. Out of the six inquiries, the bureau has recommended departmental action against eight gazetted officers and five non-gazetted officers in four inquiries.

Similarly, the bureau has recommended registering a criminal case against a gazetted officer, four non-gazetted officers and three private persons in two inquiries.

Giving this information here on Tuesday, a spokesman of the bureau said in a raid conducted during this period, Anurag, gram sachiv of Nizampur village in Gohana, and Raj Kumar, auditor, Kathura block, Gohana, were caught red-handed accepting illegal gratification of Rs 60,000.

He said cases had been registered against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
