Around 45 small and medium vehicles collided near the toll plaza on the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway in the morning today due to thick fog in the region. It caused a 5-km-long traffic jam on the expressway.
Twelve occupants, including children and women, of the vehicles were injured. They were brought to the civil hospital and were discharged after treatment.
On receiving information, Beer Singh, SHO, Kundli police station, and a police team from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh reached the spot. With the help of the vehicle owners and a crane, the vehicles were separated. The entry of vehicles at the toll plaza in the district was made free for half an hour to clear the traffic jam.
In another incident, five children were injured when a van carrying schoolchildren collided against a truck near Pipli village on Saidpur-Kharkhoda road due to poor visibility this morning.
The injured were brought to the community health centre at Kharkhoda. The students in serious condition were referred to PGIMS Rohtak. Other students were discharged after treatment.
