Jalandhar, June 17
As many as 44,717 children between 0-5 year of age were administered polio drops by the health teams on the second day of three-day polio drive which was started on June 16.
Civil Surgeon Rajesh Bagga said: “Today,1089 health teams administered polio drops to 35,097 children in urban and 9,620 children in rural areas.”
“As many as 1,089 teams were formed for the purpose and 152 supervisors were deputed to carry out the drive. Besides, front line health workers, including ASHA, Multiple Health Workers, college students and others took part in the drive,” added Bagga.
He said: “Natives of other states, residing in slums and brick kilns were specially covered during the drive. Assistant Health Officer Dr TP Singh, District Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar, WHO SMO Dr Rishi, Urban Nodal Officer Dr Priyanka Bhandari inspected the drive at Bhagat Singh Colony, Maqsudan Bypass road, Indira Colony, Suchi Pind and also administrated the polio drops to the children.” — TNS
