300 artistes to attend heritage, craft fests from February 19

The Punjab Government will hold heritage and craft festivals from February 19 in the city. Officials in the district administration today said Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would visit the city to take part in the festivals. Duties for the management of the festivals had been assigned to respective officials, they added.

 Nodal officer for the festivals, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), General, Shaukar Ahmed Pare, said, “The festivals will be managed well to ensure comfortable visit of performers and visitors to the city.”

 “The craft festival will be held in the city till March 4 while the heritage festival will be held till February 24,” he added.

“More than 300 artistes and performers will reach the city for the craft festival. They will present dances and folk art while artistic pieces will be available for purchase too,” said officials. 

“Students of schools will also take part in cultural events and different competitions,” they added.
