3-day-old girl killed in road accident

A three-day-old girl died on the spot after she came under the wheels of a truck in Jagadhri town of Yamunanagar district on Friday.

The deceased’s parents had a narrow escape as they fell on the roadside after the truck hit their motorcycle on the Jagadhri-Bilaspur road near Rakshak Vihar in Jagadhri. The girl was born at the civil hospital in Jagadhri on August 21. Her parents were taking her home for the first time when the accident took place.

Rashida was suffering from labour pain and was admitted to the hospital on August 21. She gave birth to a healthy girl through normal delivery. She was discharged from hospital on Friday.

Sources said the hospital authorities called an ambulance to drop the woman and her baby at their house. The ambulance got delayed due to transportation of some other patient.
