3 booked for demanding dowry

Three members of a family have been booked on the charge of torturing a woman for dowry.

The police said the accused had been booked on the statement of Jaswinder Kaur, daughter of Harbhajan Singh, of Gokalpura Mohalla. ASI Manjit Singh said the accused had been identified as victim’s husband Manjinder Singh, her father-in-law Harbhajan Singh and her mother-in-law Narinder Kaur, all residents of Sabhra village. Jaswinder Kaur said the accused had been harassing her mentally and physically for bringing more dowry from her parents. — OC
