As many 270 students were admitted to Class XI during the fourth counselling at the GMSSS-10 here today.
After 1,700 students were not admitted to any school even after three counsellings, the Education Department decided to conduct another counselling on August 26 and 27. The students who filled the application form on August 7 and 8 were then called for counseling at the Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) in Sector 10.
To accommodate the students, 580 seats are being increased in the humanities stream in 26 senior secondary schools. The cut-off stood at 45 per cent and above for the humanities stream for the fourth counselling. On the second day of counselling, only girl students with 40 per cent and above will get admission in the humanities stream between 9 am and 11 am.
