A 27-year-old youth was found murdered in Sector 25 this morning. The victim, with blunt injury marks on his body and his hands tied, was found lying near a public toilet by local residents, who informed the police.

The victim has been identified as Sandeep, who was residing in a shanty in Sector 25 and worked as a garbage collector in Sector 18. Sources said the victim left the house last night around 9.30 pm and went to Sector 38, where he reportedly took liquor. The victim then had an argument with a few persons, who are suspected to have murdered him. 

The police received information around 7 am following which a PCR vehicle reached the spot and shifted the body to the mortuary at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. 

The police said the victim had blunt injury marks on the entire body, including the head. 

The sources said preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was baldy thrashed by several persons that led to his death. 

It is still not clear whether the victim was murdered in Sector 25 or his body was dumped there after the murder. 

The victim is survived by his wife Moni and a five-year-old child, Pashu. 

A case under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 11 police station.

The sources said the police had rounded up a few suspects, who were questioned.
