The Department of Livestock Products Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), will organise a Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) on “Hygienic processing and value addition of meat and meat products for employment generation and women empowerment,” from December 29 to January 24. It is sponsored by Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
This programme is a comprehensive course on the processing, preservation, value addition, packaging and marketing of the meat and meat products. The experts from management, industry, banks/ financial institutions, food technologist will provide training. Visit of the trainees will also be conducted to different poultry and meat processing plants.
The trainees will be provided hands-on-training for the preparation and packaging techniques for different value added meat products such as meat kebabs, meat samosa, meat balls/koftas, meat patties, sausages, pickle and meat cutlets. The information will also be imparted on project formulation for seeking loans from banks, government schemes, licensing programmes, standards and labeling of the food products. The number of trainees is restricted to 25 with a reservation for SC/ST/women and minority candidates. No fees will be charged.
The lodging arrangements will be made at the Kisan Hostel, GADVASU, at a nominal price. Detailed information about the training and application forms are available on GADVASU website.
