Workers stage dharna

Hundreds of workers along with labour union leaders staged a dharna at a factory unit seeking compensation for their colleague who died in a road accident a few days ago.

The labour union leaders said Hirday Lal, who died in the road accident, was the only breadwinner of the family.

The situation became tense when the factory owner refused to offer money.

The police also reached the spot to tackle any eventuality. Finally, the factory owner issued two cheques of Rs 31,000, respectively, on the name of Hirday Lal’s two daughters.
