The special children at the Ibadat School for Specially Abled celebrated the true spirit of Christmas as the faculty and students distributed smiles and happiness all around. Dressed as Santa Claus, the students enjoyed the day ahead of the festival by singing and dancing, and basically spreading cheer.

Santa Claus, a symbol of all that Christmas stands for – love, happiness and the joy of sharing -- made the day for the children as one of the faculty members played Santa to the children. Another aspect of the festivities was that the children had been involved actively in setting up the décor for the celebrations, also setting up a decorative X-mas tree on the premises.

Shilpy Ganguly, the Principal and in charge of the school activities, said, “We make sure that the children celebrate each and every festival in order to understand the true meaning behind the traditions. It was indeed a special day for these children, who are not less than any Christmas miracle, waiting to happen.”

The children also sang Christmas carols and made some Christmas goodies as a part of the creative workshop. “It’s important for us to merge the concepts of teaching and making them self-dependent with the festivities. This way, they enjoy learning and celebrating life,” said Shilpy.
