KARNAL: The Animal Husbandry Department today continued precautionary measures by collecting samples from ducks at a pond in Abdullahpur in the district.

The Animal Husbandry Department today continued precautionary measures by collecting samples from ducks at a pond in Abdullahpur in the district.

The ducks were shifted to Abdullahpur from the local Karna Lake recently by the contractor, said Dr Ashok Kumar Lohan, in-charge of the District Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. He said the samples would be sent to the Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Jalandhar for further investigation.

“No case of avian influenza has been reported in the district. We are on full alert,” he said. Dr Lohan said the samples were collected as a precautionary measures and asked poultry farm owners to keep a watch on their birds.
