As many as 22,586 candidates appeared for an exam conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) for 207 posts of Cooperative Inspector in Patiala on Sunday. Officials said only 8,000 candidates appeared for the same test conducted one and a half year ago for 525 posts.
The PPSC conducted the exam at Punjabi University and city-based colleges for the first time.
PPSC Secretary Jasleen Kaur Sandhu said, “The exam was conducted without any hassle. We may abstain from conducting exams in Chandigarh from now onwards.”
She also praised the traffic police which ensured a free flow of traffic and made it possible for students to reach their examination centres well on time.
