210 attend cricket trials

As many as 210 aspirants attended the selection trials conducted by the Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA), an affiliated body of the Punjab Cricket Association at GRD Academy here on Sunday.

These trials were held to select the probables (U-19) for registration with the Regional Coaching Centre run by the LDCA at the same venue.

Vinod Chitkara, honorary general secretary, LDCA, said the panel of selectors comprising former IPL player Luv Ablish, former Punjab Ranji player Arun Passi besides Dinesh Puri and Gagandeep Dhand watched these aspirants during the trials.

No trial fee was charged from the players, he said.

“Around 70 probables would be shortlisted for the coaching centre. The Ludhiana district cricket team (U-19) for the Inter-District Cricket Championship would also be finalised from the selected probables,” added Chitkara. — OC
