2 robbers held with illegal fire arms

NEW DELHI:With the arrest of two robbers — Deepak (39) and Aman (23), both resident of Meerut (UP), northeast district police's anti-snatching team (AST) has recovered a semi-automatic pistol, a country-made pistol, 28 live cartridges and a stolen motorcylce from their possession, said police.

With the arrest of two robbers — Deepak (39) and Aman (23), both resident of Meerut (UP), northeast district police's anti-snatching team (AST) has recovered a semi-automatic pistol, a country-made pistol, 28 live cartridges and a stolen motorcylce from their possession, said police.

During the course of patrolling, the police noticed suspicious activity of two persons riding on a motorcycle near Ashok Nagar flyover, said DCP Atul Kumar Thakur.

When police tried to stop them, they tried to flee away, but the AST members apprehended them both, he said.

During interrogation, both revealed that they have been involved in many cases. Further investigation is on, DCP added.
