2 Punjab youths arrested with 21 kg poppy straw

Two youths from Punjab were arrested today under police station Jogindernagar in Mandi district after 21.1 kg poppy straw was seized from them.

The youths were traveling on a motorcycle. When stopped for checking, police recovered 21.1 kg poppy straw from the possession of Malkiat Singh, a native of Talwandi and Jorawar Singh, a native of Sadakpur in Punjab. They were arrested under the NDPS Act.

Two youths Om Prakash, a native of Sakroha village and Ghanshyam, a native of Bah village, were arrested for possessing 100 gram heroin. Both accused were traveling in a Volvo bus, when police stopped the vehicle near Salapar for checking. During checking police recovered the contraband and arrested them under the NDPS Act.— TNS
