Two groups of local residents clashed with each other over personal enmity at Sector 56 here on Saturday. The police registered a cross-FIR and initiated an investigation into the matter.

A clash among two groups was reported at the house of one of the accused in Sector 56. The police were informed about the incident, following which they rushed to the spot and pacified the situation.

According to the police, Perm Babu, a resident of Maloya Colony, alleged that Ram Sanjeevan, Sanjay Kumar, Ranjit and Rahil, all residents of House No. 713, Sector 56, thrashed him.

In another complaint, Sanjay Kumar, a resident of House No. 713, Sector 56, alleged that Ram Raj, Sham Babu and Prem Babu, all residents of House No. 4,207, Maloya Colony, thrashed him at his house.

Several persons suffered injuries in the incident. They were admitted to the Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, here.

The police said a cross-case under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 147 (punishment for rioting) and 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) of the IPC has been registered against all accused. — TNS
