Though residents of Noormahal had donated Rs 25 lakh and 6 kanals and 18 marlas of land for the construction of a modern police station, after more than 12 years the mutation had not been transferred in the name of the Police Department.

Neither the Local Bodies Department, nor the Police Department took interest to provide the ultra-modern building of the police station, which had been operating from a private building .

Nurmahal Nagar Council, in its meeting, held on June 11, 2012, had passed a unanimous resolution No 40 for transferring the land to the Police Department for the construction of the building which had been rejected by the Director, Local Government.

Residents repeatedly urged the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the Chief Minister, Capt Amrindar Singh to approve the resolution but to no avail.

SHO, Noormahal, Sikandar Singh, said the construction of barracks for cops, boundary wall, flooring and parking space for impounded vehicles was the need of the hour.
