Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that his government had a roadmap to strengthen the country’s economy by helping different sectors and they had taken historic decisions to improve the banking sector.

“We have taken big decisions on issues ranging from agriculture to national security during the first 100 days of the present Central government. Several laws have been enacted to curb terrorism, for the welfare of Muslim women and for improvement of the health sector,” Modi said while addressing a rally here today.

The Prime Minister maintained that it was just the beginning and the benefits of the steps taken by the government would be evident in the coming days.

He claimed that the Parliament session in the 100 days of the present regime had accomplished more work as compared to any session of Parliament in the last 60 years. “The members of Parliament held debates and discussions on various matters till late in the night. A number of Bills were passed. I thank all parties for this,” said Modi.

Referring to the initiatives pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and water crisis, the Prime Minister asserted that India now challenges every challenge and knows how to take challenges head-on.

He announced that by 2024, every household would get potable water and a mega project involving a cost of Rs 3.5 lakh crore had been envisaged for the purpose. He exhorted the people to save water.

The Prime Minister said a scheme under which the farmers got a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 per head had already been launched and another pension scheme for the small businessmen was also on the anvil.

Modi said that during the last five years, Haryana had got the benefit of the “double-engine” of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state, pointing out that Central projects worth Rs 25,000 crore were in progress in Haryana.

The Prime Minister noted that Haryana was a leading state in swachhta campaign and had been declared open defecation-free. Haryana had also become a kerosene-free state and was leading in the MSME sector, he added.

Modi said the target to distribute LPG cylinders to 8 crore households under the Ujjawala scheme had been achieved. He stated that an amount of Rs 21,000 crore had been deposited in the bank accounts of farmers in the country.

Referring to the Chandrayaan–2 Mission, Modi said the episode had infused an “ISRO spirit” in the country.

Talking about Haryana, Modi praised the relentless efforts put in by state Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

“When I became the Chief Minister for the first time in 2001, people used to cast aspersions on me. The situation was the same for Manohar Lalji when he became the CM five years ago…. By the virtue of his determination and hard work, he has ushered the state in a new direction,” said the PM. Stating that the people of Haryana were in a dilemma whether the Chief Minister’s name was ‘Namohar’ or ‘Manohar’, Modi maintained that ‘Namohar’ and ‘Manohar’ were one and the same.
