Ambala, June 24
More than 1,300 mutations have been lying pending in Ambala Cantonment following software upgrade.
As per the information, the mutations were put on hold around May 25 and since then no mutations have been done. Omkar Nath Paruthi, president of the Nagrik Manch Ambala, said, “Mutation indicates the changes that have to be brought about in ownership and title of the land. There are a large number of people who have got their registries done and they had also got their loans approved from the banks, but the bank do not release the cheque of the loan until the mutation is done.”
“It’s a tough situation for the seller as there are cases where people have sold their properties because of financial issues. But as the mutation work has been put on hold, they are not getting their payments. The nagrik manch has requested Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to issue some directions in this regard and provide relief to the people whose mutations are pending,” he said.
Darshan Kumar, tehsildar, Ambala Cantt, said “The software is being upgraded and the entire data has been sent to Chandigarh which is being converted. Soon the data will be available on the website. Since the entire data is being uploaded the new mutations are not being done.” DC Sharandeep Kaur said, “Over 1,300 mutations are pending and directions have already been issued to the officials concerned to get the work done at the earliest.”
