Chandigarh, April 4
As many as 616 students of three engineering and technology institutes of Panjab University were conferred with degrees during the third convocation held here today on the campus.
As many as 320 students from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), 110 from the UIET, Hoshiarpur, and 186 students from the University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET), received their degrees during the convocation.
Professor Kesav Vithal Nori, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, was the chief guest on the occasion.
In his speech, Prof Kesav Vithal Nori gave humorous and motivating examples on how the world is changing rapidly nowadays.
He said an engineer without any practical experience was nothing.
While speaking on the occasion, Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Professor Arun Kumar Grover said trainings/ internships were most important in students’ life since they help them in getting practical exposure.
