Kangra, March 13
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Ajay Verma today said the party would highlight the failures of the Narendra Modi government at booth level during the Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing a press conference here, Verma said the BJP had understood the public mood during the Congress rally at Chambi which was addressed by AICC chief Rahul Gandhi. He claimed the huge gathering indicated that people were not happy with the betrayal and false promises and ‘jumlas’ by the BJP leadership.
He was critical of the BJP state government in getting the new centrally sponsored schemes approved by the NDA government. He alleged that the 63 national highway projects sanctioned by the UPA government were left in the lurch as the NDA government failed to sanction funds to take them forward.
He alleged that the BJP government had cheated the state on Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra-Shimla four-lane project and Pathankot-Jogindernagar broad gauge railway line.
He asked the BJP MP Shanta Kumar to disclose the progress in the setting of the cement plant of Chamba as promised by him and development of the village he had adopted as Member Parliament Lok Sabha.
