Bollywood actor Akshay kumar released another poster from his upcoming Indian period drama film ‘Kesari’, which is based on the Battle of Saragarhi where 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.
After the success of his film ‘Gold’, Akshay started working on ‘Good News’—which also stars actress Kareena Kapoor Khan—and ‘Kesari’.
‘Kesari’ is produced by filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
In a tweet on Monday, Akshay said he would share "#GlimpsesofKersari" starting Tuesday.
He tweeted: “Unraveling the pages of history to the bravest battle ever fought. #GlimpsesOfKesari from tomorrow, are you ready? #Kesari @ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_”.
On Tuesday morning the actor tweeted: “Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari, jo bahega mera woh lahoo bhi Kesari, aur mera jawaab bhi Kesari.
Get ready for #GlimpsesOfKesari from 2pm onwards. #Kesari @ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_”.
“The bravest battle ever fought,” Akshay had earlier described the film’s subject.
Ahead of the trailer launch, the makers of the film have decided to increase the anticipation.
Akshay shared the first glimpse of his film on Twitter.
He captioned, "It’s an UNBELIEVABLE TRUE STORY. Presenting the first one from the #GlimpsesOfKesari. #KesariTrailer21Feb".
In the teaser, Afghani soldiers are going to fight Sikh warriors who are ready to face one of the toughest stand-alone battles the world has ever seen. Akshay will play the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havildar Ishar Singh.
Sharing the second glimpse, Akshay tweeted again: “This is the bravest battle ever fought! Presenting the second one from the #GlimpsesOfKesari. #KesariTrailer21Feb http://bit.ly/GlimpsesOfKesari2 …@ParineetiChopra @SinghAnurag79 @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @SunirKheterpal @DharmaMovies #CapeOfGoodFilms @iAmAzure @ZeeStudios_”.
The trailer of the film will release on 21 February, exactly one month prior to the release of the film.
'Kesari' is directed by popular Punjabi director Anurag Singh.
The film scheduled to release on March 21.
