Holes in MC’s claims on water supply
Chandigarh, June 14
When it comes to making false claims, nobody can match the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh
(MCC). At a time when the civic body is at the receiving end for its failure to supply adequate drinking water to the city's population, it seems to have devised yet another strategy to "befool" top functionaries of the administration and the residents.
Top MCC officials, including its Chief Engineer, unveiled this strategy before UT home-cum local government secretary Ram Niwas on June 12 when they claimed that the water was being supplied to
various parts from 11 hours to 17 hours.
MC fails to auction 4 parking sites
Chandigarh, June 14
While the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has enhanced its revenue by putting the significant parking sites on auction, yet there are at least four parking sites located in Sector 17, which apparently, have failed to catch the fancy of the corporation.

Phones in Sector 46 go dead, courtesy MC

Underground telephone lines at Sector 46 were damaged while laying water pipes in front of the houses of the residents, which is causing great inconvenience to them. Thanks to the ‘dig and run’ policy of the MC team who had virtually put their life to naught.

Chand-Fiza ‘reunion’ angers Shiv Sainiks

Chand-Fiza “reunion” today did not find favour with Shiv Sainiks. On hearing that Chand Mohammed alias Chander Mohan was back with Fiza alias Anuradha Bali, a large number of activists of the youth wing of the Shiv Sena Hindustan converged outside Fiza’s Sector 48 house here and raised slogans against Chand.

War widow gets promised land after 37 yrs
